Well if I was an American manufacturer that needed any of my supplies from China (magnets for instance) I would be carrying a substantially increased amount of stock.
May be a positive short term boost but no one would win longterm IMO, any positive gained in the light RE's for the American market would be more than offset by reduced use of Chinese magnets.
I still think alot of what Trump is doing is grandstanding so he can get a good deal.
When you go into a trade negotiation thinking the other side is hell bent on slapping a blanket 45% tariff on everything you are probably going to be offered a much better deal than going in saying free trade is great and the Chinese are our friends.
Just my opinion obviously but the man is a deal maker (literally even wrote a book on it).
