If that really is the case then that is fine for the US. But if you think that this will happen in AU then you should probably check the mobile data prices again. Mobile data here is far too expensive to see the majority switch to it. Not only this, but can you imagine what would happen in regards to congestion of the mobile network if that were to happen?
In my opinion, it is not in the best interests of any ISP to incentivise a mass switch to mobile Internet as there is not enough frequency bandwidth to go around. Maybe wireless networks are the future, but I personally don't see that happening within the next, dare I say 10 years unless someone comes up with a revolutionary technology that overcomes the congestion and reliability issues that are inherent in a wireless network. Cabled networks are still and have always been far superior to wireless.
