I'm mostly interested in the counter claim here. Can you get away with calling someone a racist for their views on religion? I hope she wins that argument as that will possibly have some interesting implications.

The case against her is hard to judge as I haven't seen everything she has said. Has she defamed him personally or just the business/idea of halal certification? I don't know, anyone?

Remember, this isn't a case about halal certification as such, it's about what Smith has said about halal certification. I guess the only implication for halal certification would come if she was actually able to prove that the fees do in fact go to organisations involved in terrorist activities - that could be interesting I guess but I imagine it's unlikely she would be able to prove such a thing?
