Well all technology which is undergoing trials for safety and efficacy carry the risk of failure. That risk moderates the share price and limits the number of shares individual investors want to hold. if it was a sure thing, it would be valued differently, and likely much more expensive. It's a gamble for sure, but an educated investor can assess the rewards and the risks, and hope for a little bit of good luck.
