Tesla set an unprecedented standard in fossil fuel alternatives with his EV design. He thought outside the box and redesigned the lot from the ground up. For a start, no gears or transmission. Wheels are turned directly off the motor that is in turn orientated and placed exactly where they need to be. The difference in moving parts between a Tesla and a petrol engine driven car is totally astounding.

What electric lacked in storage VS traditional fuel engine it made up for in efficiency. Look how much heat and sound alone comes from a petrol driven engine, then add up all the friction from the moving parts. No wonder only ~15% of the energy ends up where it should.

When I see a fuel cell car schematic, even that seems overly complex compared to a Tesla, many more points that can fail and "high pressure hydrogen tanks" would make me feel uneasy.

The Tesla electric car, because the motor is "hidden" in the rear wheel compartment frees up the front and back section of the car for storage space. The front space is very important because in a front end collision an engine block is no longer forced into the car killing people. If needed I'm sure the front could even be fitted with extra safety measures.

It's EV's all the way folks or bust!
