OMERS move to over 6% holding of Anvil.
Bill Turner is not likely to accept any take over proposition.
Any take over move would need to be offering a large premium on share price.
Very large!
Share price does not take into account much of the future developments already on the way.
Perhaps there is a price at which one can't refuse?
The possibility of a take over is occasionally put forward on this forum.
A possibility which has been dismissed out of hand by me knowing management feelings about such and the large holdings the management possesses.
So while the likelihood of a take over is not high on my expectations - far from it - the 6% holding is of interest.
Perhaps someone much more informed about such things might be so kind as to inform us about OMERS and the reason for such a strong move into Anvil.
Perhaps OMERS is just smarter than the average organisation.
And know a good thing when they see it.
