Take Mozambique as an example, since you are invested there. The southern parts have been suffering extreme drought conditions this year, whilst further north flooding - . http://floodlist.com/africa/mozambique-floods-north-january-2016 note then the worst affected areas were Chiúre, Montepuez, Metuge, Mecúfi, Namuno, Balama and Mocímboa da Praia.

Mozambique is also cyclone prone - the most recent, Dineo, hit this week - http://clubofmozambique.com/news/storm-dineo-kills-least-seven-people-mozambique-government/. Power lines collapsing are a regular event, as are bridges and roads being washed out, the result - miners, are impacted. In the 2015/201 cyclone season, Kenmare Resources, who operate the minerals sand mine in northern Mozambique were hit by 57 days of storm related electricity cuts - they nearly went to the wall.

Here's some stats on one of the worst Mozambique floods in 2000..

"Over one hundred thousand farming families had lost their livelihoods, with nearly fifteen hundred square kilometres of land almost destroyed. But it was not only the crops that were damaged. Twenty thousand cows were either swept away by the flood waters, or died from disease shortly afterwards. In the aftermath, four hundred and fifty million dollars was required to rebuild after all the damage."

Probably a good thing that "Flooding risk is low" in Tanzania?
