Thanks for that insight EB. I am not ashamed to admit it........but this great song can still move me to tears at times. As you say, a song right from his heart and for that reason alone, will touch younger people, from different generations, when they discover the song.
I never knew my own father, who was killed during WWII. It certainly gets to me, in a nice way.
