Can someone explain why the income tax expense is not offset against the $64m accumulated losses?
The $64 million in accumulated losses aren't actually losses, because every time a company pays a dividend it's subtracted from retained earnings or gets added to accumulated losses. Over the last 10 years alone McPherson's has payed out around $110 million in fully franked divs.
