Nah. CHK was trading between 1.8 and 2.4c in the days before the private placement announcement. After halt was lifted it reached a high of 3.4c (2 days ago) and has drifted now back to 2.4c. So other than the short-term spike it really hasn't done a lot at all.
Share price will often come back to placement price but it does depend on associated news, how large the placement is, and what terms.
