You 'neglect' to outline the case for Hicks' defense. What has John Howard done to deserve responsibility for this man's conduct overseas? Don't recall anyone from the left heading o/s to seek the release of Barlow and Chambers, but we're supposed to be ashamed of our alleged lack of empathy for someone involved with the Taliban? Bet the taxpayers have spent plenty on the matter just the same. Poor soul is Hick's, but don't make him an election issue.
