Ole mate Ahmed told Ross Greenwood this avo that the Government has not put one cent toward Australia Post...maybe he is right. Let's face it up until a couple of years ago AP was running ok and paying it's way.

Given the move to electronic mail and the proliferation of social media sites it was a no brainer that the number of letters sent would fall...and will keep falling as more people opt for electronic delivery of bills etc.

But one of his earlier comments was laughable...he said as AP lost money in 2015 so he did not take any Bonus's...not a bad gig, the company you are CEO for loses $222 million dollars, so you just take your meagre salary of $1.8 million dollars, the $34,000.00 per week his contract stipulated. Compared to the PM's $10,000.00 per week he didn't go without.

What he did say was that when he was offered the gig in 2010 the salary offered was $1.8 million plus bonuses etc etc...I guess if he hadn't asked Australia Post to donate $2 million dollars to his brother's Islamic museum he wouldn't have been so much in the spotlight now...

AUSTRALIA Post donated more than $2 million to an Islamic museum in suburban Melbourne in lieu of a bonus it was due to pay its chief executive, Ahmed Fahour.

The Herald Sun can reveal Mr Fahour asked for the bonus to be donated directly to the Islamic Museum of Australia, of which he is patron.

The donation was made months ago, but has only emerged now, when Australia Post is sacking 900 staff to stem the losses at its domestic mail division.

Mr Fahour said he and his family had been able to make a “substantial contribution’’ to several not-for-profit organisations in recent years.

“Earlier this year, I announced that my family had contributed $4 million to the Islamic Museum.
