here was my email to Avexa (names removed):

'There is great confusion about whether the offer is available to anyone who holds AVX on 29 March, or if people need to have been holders at the time of the trading halt AND still be holders on the 29th.
In short....Is someone buying AVX for the first time today eligible for the rights issue (assuming they hold
through 29th)?'

HERE IS THE REPLY FROM AVEXA:

'If you buy before the 29th you are entitled to the
rights offer.'
