I think you may have yourself a little confused. Strip ratio is the waste rock to ore ratio, whether ore is 5% or 30%. i.e how many tonnes of rock has to be moved to get a tonne of ore out of the ground to the process plant. You're right in that a 5% grade requires four times as much ore to be processed to produce the same quantity of concentrate as a 20% grade ore, but that's separate to strip ratio
