Sadly, my direct observations of Australia since the rise of fascist right wing governments during the last 20 years could hardly be more at odds with that you expressed.
IMO Australia is rapidly degenerating into an intolerant, discriminatory, self-self-self pre-occupied, hateful and greed driven society. If you look for the signs of this, they're as apparent as a ram's appendages.
