Cost of GQD’s (Disclaimer as just covers the cost of carbon product) however my research indicates the patented method of GQD extraction from Coal is very efficient and low cost this was created by Rice University with lead Dr. James Tour (DTZ director) and a DTZ owned patent!
Facts and figures of costs
Cost of Graphite by ton between $800-2000
Cost of Coal by ton $90-$100
Yield (% of GQD’s extracted of the carbon product)
Graphite 2-3%
Coal 20-25%
So for today example lets cost a KG of Graphite and Coal to compare cost and then what the cost would be per KG of GQD’s
Graphite $1 per KG (using $1000 per ton)
Coal 10c per KG (using $100 per ton)
After extraction about of GQD’s produced
Graphite 30 grams of GQD’s (using 3% yield)
Coal 200 grams of GQD’s (using 20% yield)
Graphite cost per KG - $33
Coal cost per KG – 50c!
So pre-extraction costs for producing GQD’s this means Coal is 66 times cheaper than graphite! Pretty telling stat - IMO
Just remember Dotz Nano OWNS the PATENTS to the process of extracting GQD's from coal.
These stats make me excited!
