Ceaser, unlike the pollie at least you are rational and honest on the subject. Unfortunately with all vaccines there is a small number of complications. It applies to just about anything that a few will react badly to the medications involved.
However as you say on the whole for probably 99%+ of the population they are proven safe and the scourge of many diseases is prevented.
So many horrific diseases have been eliminated/prevented by vaccines.
I remember as a kid before vaccinations the number of kids with deformities/weakness due to polio was horrendous. Even Tetanus could result in horrific death. Vaccines have changed all that and most would be grateful for that.
Mot problems used to arise from inadequate testing but apparently its much more vigorous nowadays.

The anti vaxxers want the benefit of a herd that is not diseased, while jeopardising the strength of the herd on the very remote possibility that their own child will have an adverse reaction to a vaccine.
