dave, I'm starting to see and hear more from the sceptics side of the debate, rebutting the alarmist arguments. The alarmist side has been driven largely by the Al Gore movie and thankfully there are enough people around who are questioning his claims. Any small amount of research can find enough reason to question many of the claims. For instance, the melting in the Antartic can be seen as spectacular when it is illustrated as big lumps of ice falling into the ocean, however the ongoing buildup of ice over the entire continent which can't be seen is sufficient to offset all or most of the losses we see. The mass balance of Antartic ice is not known for sure, but there are those who believe there may still be net gains each year. Small details such as this are completely ignored by the alarmists but I feel that it won't be long before the opinion of the masses begins to swing the other way again.
