    Hi Shaneos and all,

As I said before will an interest move from 0.75% to 1% mean much whilst inflation is running along at 2.5%? As I see it a $100.00 on deposit at 1% will still have a lower purchasing ability in twelve months’ time. Also don’t forget if they are admitting inflation is at 2.5% what the real figure could be!

If the USA economy is as strong as some would have us believe why are they still running emergency strategies such as true negative interest rates?

I was just looking at my health insurance bill, electric bill, water bill, rates bill, car / home insurance bill, telephone bill and a few other expenses and now I’m trying to find out how I can move to the Balearic islands where apparently there is no inflation to speak of.

I have been watching the growth of technology and artificial intelligence in the mining industry for several years and have seen autonomous trucks, trains, loading shovels and other advances. This may be good for the mining companies and their cost cutting; however, unfortunately I can’t see the job losses being good for the country and the social consequences.

Still technology will march on regardless of what I think; I now see some interesting technology that may be of interest to general Gold enthusiasts. New technology to assist the mining industry there is a short (2 Min) video in the link. Elementary my Dear Watson!

IBM (NYSE:IBM) and Goldcorp (TSX:G, NYSE:GG) have launched a strategic partnership to implement the cognitive technology IBM Watson, used to analyse large amounts of data, at Red Lake, Ontario mine. This is the first time the Canadian mining industry will use this type of technology.

In regard to Gold supply problems this may have a slight impact: Trouble at Mill!

“Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) has a huge trouble in Indonesia. The Indonesian government is escalating its demands. It demands Freeport-McMoRan to invest almost $2.7 billion into a new smelting facility and also to divest a majority share on the Grasberg mine.”
