It is not every day that an Aussie minnow does a deal with a Japanese whale.
Fujifilm taking equity in Cynata should be (and is) a great story, especially given that this is right in the sweet spot of the economic strategy of the Abe government: to build leadership in the new generation of medical products (ie cell therapy).
Japan did the same thing with the automotive and semiconductor industries and led the world for years.
We are part of that piece now with the policy decisions that reflect the enormous importance of stem cells in Japan.
