@selfmaderiches I agree with you completely, However I am sceptical of the Government just doing their conservative thing, and not actually listening to what the people want.

I do think that the stigma of Marijuana use is almost completely evaporated, and we have come a long way from the Regan era propaganda days. But those in power are from the generation that grew up with all the anti-drugs propaganda.

Even in the United States the Trump Administration is talking about banning Medicinal and Recreational Marijuana use.

Don't forgot a lot of the critics of Medicinal Marijuana are "Big Pharma" to use a battered term, as MM has shown to be a direct competitor for many prescription opioids, so we could see the Big Pharma Lobby Groups playing a part to suppress MM's rise.

Before Full Legalization of Marijuana, Medicinal or otherwise. I would hope that Decriminalization is a step that should be looked into, much like in Portugal.
But this is another topic completely.
