Just shows how misguided some are. It's not a popularity contest. There's a good reason why management are calling the shots and not the shareholders.
Samboy I read your analysis, there are holes wide enough to drive an ago road train through.
You've based numbers on 16mt for the year at spot prices..?
Have you read the reports properly regarding hedge and declining feed from closing mines.
I think that the company wants to get the options in the money and wipe out the debt that way.
All this talk and rumors of rail...it's not going to happen.
No point paying down debt to zero and then being left without any producing mines then re-borrowing for new mine development. They have cash flow, and they quite rightly will look to maintain this positive cash-flow, if that means using funds for future development instead of paying down debt immediately then so be it.

They are playing their cards very close to their chest, these guys aren't stupid.
They don't need advice from HC posters on how to run a mining company.
I believe that they will run a steady flow of releases into the oppies expiry (prob OAs) to get them into the money. With oppies converted they will quite probably have a couple hundred mill in the bank, that way if IO tanks later on down the track they won't be left in the position they were last time.

AGO are acutely aware of the benefits to be had by getting the options in the money, I am certain of that!
