Brokers don't make money when their clients hold stock long term! They are the bottom feeders of the financial world who live off commission and so the more transactions they can manage, the better.
If I can refer back to the broker data posted by @Waiting4Godot here, see how Hartleys sold 10.7M but also bought 4M. Whilst they were the largest seller during that time, they were also the second largest buyer which is why the SP was being held in a tight range. Take profits for some and accumulate for others.
Now, what's even more interesting is that in the broker data posted by @stotes today, between the 1st & 10th of March, Hartleys haven't bought a single share. Coincidentally, during this time, we've seen the SP fall dramatically. Perhaps they accumulated on the dips during Feb with the intention of selling at an average 0.0877 for small profits and now they are dumping the remainder of their clients shares without regard for the SP. Whatever the case may be, we are at their mercy.
