Has anyone considered the fact that the earth's core consists of molten Iron at a very high temperature?
Miners have known that for a fact for centuries that the deeper you drill a mine, the hotter the surrounding rock gets.
Just read about conditions in the very deep South African mines.
Why wouldnd'nt it be possible for that heat to slowly seep up to the surface?
Rather than measuring only air temperature etc would it not be advisable to measure temperatures, say 1 mile deep, at regular intervals. Or even deeper to exclude any chance that the atmospheric temperature could be an influence.
Have those studies been done? Anyone know?
