As I've mentioned once or twice on the HZR threads, hydrogen is likely to succeed as a fuel source as it keeps Big Oil and Big Gas in the game and they still have quite the political and financial clout. The vast majority of industrial hydrogen supply is from steam methane reformation (SMR) of natural gas. The drawback is the associated CO2 emissions.
Now consider HZR. Hydrogen still being generated using natural gas as a feedstock but with the easily achievable aim of graphite as a saleable by-product. As it stands, the reduction in CO2 emissions are around 60% when compared to SMR as some gas is burnt to power the reactor, however ultimately zero CO2 emissions should be theoretically possible.
Proof of concept at a continuous level and decent size is tantalisingly close with a pre pilot plant scale operation slated for completion in Q1, so just a few weeks away. Once and if this is achieved, price will not remain in the double digits IMO.
Just a shame that HZR couldn't capitalise on the current boom in medical marijuana by signing a MOU to supply clean power to a budding listed dope enterprise. With a name change to Purple Hazer as well, the SP would have been higher than Snoop Dogg at a Willie Nelson concert.
