Trav if everyone followed your rule WGL would be dead in the water, as would many stocks.
Those bastards with different rules to us would see your stop loss and manipulate the price down to hit it...pretty simple.
I do use stop losses occasionally, and in hindsight should have here, but I luckily took some capital off the table in the 2's.
TBH if this goes belly up I think there is a strong case for legal action here as the Company, I believe, have not been totally honest with shareholders from the very beginning. We have seen nothing like the speed/data saving the company was spruiking in what seems like years ago, not to mention all the other pipe dreams that have eventuated to nothing.
That being said I am still expecting an announcement this week and still hold a small "just in case" parcel.
