The Glaucos report justified their low heartwood yields based on academic research.  I stumbled across a 2006 academic report that had those findings. http://www.fpc.wa.gov.au/news-media...-14-year-old-indian-sandalwood-santalum-album

This is a 2012 report.  It is based on actual trees grown by a WA government agency that established a research program.  Some of the trees had low yields.  Some had very high yields (24 kg to 30kg per tree.  Average 5.8kg per tree).  We know that TFC's early harvests had low yields and they learned and improved.

By way of comparison, TFC is using 12.1kg per tree for its 2008 plantations and 15.7 kg per tree for its 2015 plantations.

I also stumbled across this report.  I found the technical information that demonstrated s.album (Indian sandalwood)was different to s.spicatum (Western Australian) reassuring.
