Though you word it in a slightly odd way, I do not disagree with you.
Shorters, just like buyers, imply and provide the market with information. In this case there is clearly a negative sentiment on Orocobre due to the reasons we are all aware.. I do however think that this has fallen hard and fast, there cannot be much more room for profit on their end.
There might be negative feedback loop occuring, whereby as ORE becomes more and more shorted, it encourages further shorts.. I mean generally if you were looking to short a stock you'd probably look at top 10 shorted stocks and jump on the markets bandwagon so to speak.
Either way, this is all short-medium term in my opinion. Phase II will go ahead (delayed no doubt), without dilution, and the market will give this company a solid bounce/re-rate.. The great thing about having such a large short-position is there must invariably be a short-squeeze.
