Macquarie figures a potential takeover bid for Myer could equate to A$1.62/share, which is 29% above Monday's close. The investment bank notes deals in Australia's consumer sector tend to average about 7 times Ebitda, but Myer is trading at just 4.8x estimated 2018 Ebitda. Shares popped 18% yesterday as an investor took a 10% stake, sparking speculation a takeover bid could be coming. But no one has publicly emerged yet, and Myer said earlier Tuesday it hasn't received information from any potential acquirer.
