re: cromag - permian extinction When I said I don't believe in the big bang I mean I don't believe there was ever one singular object that spontaneously exploded but many. ie our universe isn't the only one, the others are just so far away we can't see them. It is impossible for a person to try to imagine infinate time and distance. All matter does seem to come from condensed energies, but we will probably never know where those energies come from. It is perfectly valid to create an answer to this question if you feel you need one, so many people just assume that god created it. I disagree, but I don't believe I will ever know so I won't say you are wrong. But the idea that man had no common sense until the ten commandments was handed down is complete rubbish IMHO. It's simple logic that if a community needed to work together but didn't they would die. You say that you need to teach an animal to do anything non instinctive. The same goes for humans. Humans appear to have very few instincts at birth(fear of heights actually appears to be a natural instinct in humans) but we need to be taught everything else. Where's the difference. Anthropological evidence seems to indicate that we were probably talking for millions of years, yet we have only started to write in the past few thousand years. Millions of years with an opposable thumb and nobody thought about writing anything down. Many animals don't have the complex cerebral structure we have and therefore they probably only have the capacity for instinct. Did you know(without teaching) an orangutan will pull a blind fold off a person before they try to SHOW them anything.
