DT, whilst reading his book, keep in mind that his farm doesn't actually put anything into the food chain. He basically breeds horses and therefore there is no constant departure of nutrients from his land. If he was to farm to produce something productive to help sustain his fellow man, rather than provide them with pleasure or pain, then his concepts are not viable. His system would work well if we import everything needed to sustain ourselves from China and only concentrate on those things that keep us entertained.
