Yeah not gunna happen.
As usual the gov will do what is already well known by the public, (lithium ion batteries) not what is the best overall solution for longevity.
Currently 10 years life out of a lithium battery system is expected. That's with a degree of degradation along the way.
VRB's are the best choice for this type of application.
Why the are going lithium is beyond me.
But it is the gov so nothing is surprising really.
