The company only gets the money from exercising the options i.e. the 2c for any options purchased on market.
This is why it is critical imo that the company works to get the share price up sooner rather than later, so that option holders feel confident to exercise options before the 31st December 2017 to help with cash flow rather than wait until the death knock just before this date.
