My old investment manager who looked after my account for about 10 years is also like a friend at this point and works for big investment company in Sydney so he always tells me of upcoming companies that their firm is watching. If you know about company early and like the way it looks and reads, worth the investment even if you have to wait months for it to list. A lot of people don't do this with small amounts because they can make more day trading in that period, but I only risk a little on day trading so does not apply.
