Wall Street entered the second quarter with losses on Monday as financials continued to feel the pressure after big gains at the start of the year.
Financial stocks remained among the worst performers on Monday, continuing the correction following their massive rally since November.
Stocks had pared the worst of the day's losses by the final hour, though. The S&P 500 finished down 0.16%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.05%, and the Nasdaq fell 0.29%.

Gold prices erased modest early losses Monday to end slightly higher on some bargain buying. Some weaker-than-expected U.S. economic data that fell into the camp of the monetary policy doves, who want to see a slower pace of U.S. interest rate increases, also helped out the precious metals bulls today.
