SecureTouch Syringe - Successful Production Trial and TGA Approval
for Breath Test Kits

PRODUCTION TRIAL – SECURETOUCH RETRACTABLE SYRINGE
Safety Medical Products Ltd (ASX Code: SFP) is extremely pleased to announce a successful full
production trial run of its SecureTouch Retractable Syringe Assembly Machine.
Following the final modifications and commissioning of the Automated Assembly Machine, a
production run of over 20,000 Safety Syringes were manufactured in a five hour time period at an
average hourly output of over 4,000 units. Production peaked at over 4,600 units per hour.
This result validates the extra time spent in improving production efficiency prior to shipping to the
Exel syringe plant in Korea.
A complete quality test is currently underway to ensure strength and operational consistency, with
early results indicating 100% of production to date will successfully pass. These results will verify
the Machine’s built in Quality Assurance Mechanisms.
This high volume manufacturing of a quality safety syringe is believed to be an Australian first, with
the syringes being available to the market at prices that will be competitive with standard syringes
keeping in line with SafetyMed’s earlier pricing predictions.
The Company will conduct further production runs and testing this week ahead of the equipment’s
expected June departure to the Exel syringe facility in Korea.
Exel management have been constantly updated on the machines progress, and are extremely
excited about the opportunity that this significant achievement presents in the wake of the US
legislation making the use of safety devices mandatory this year.
IN-VITRO DIAGNOSTIC REAGENTS AND KITS – TGA APPROVAL
SafetyMed is also pleased to announce the receipt of TGA Approval as a Manufacturer of the In-
Vitro Diagnostic Reagents and Kits developed by Nidor Pty Ltd.
These simple breath test kits are used to provide a quantitative assessment of the health and
function of the small intestine and designed to be useable in clinical settings or in patients own
homes. They are currently being trialed at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide.
The kits contains all required materials, including breath collection tubes, and simple easy to follow
instructions for the user. On completion, the tests can be repacked and mailed back to the
designated laboratory for analysis.
Assembly and packaging will be carried out under contract at Safetymed’s Salisbury facility.
This brings to Safety Medical Products further opportunity to expand its’ suite of exceptional
products as well as an additional revenue stream.
