Thanks for providing a thorough scenario analysis that is much needed, but sadly frequently frowned upon in the MSB thread.

The questions that I have in my mind after reading your post are:
    - How many years should MSB holders realistically wait from now until Year 0 in your scenario?
    - How many more millions of dollars need to be spent in this period?
    - How many more new shares need to be issued by MSB to reach that point of self-sustainability?

I believe the above questions are ones that MSB holders need to seriously consider asking themselves.

The upcoming deal with MNK or others can temporarily address MSB's cash problems. How long it can temporarily solve the problem depends on the magnitude of the deal. Until MSB becomes self-sustaining, whatever money it manages to raise will eventually run out.

Equating current MSB to a rocket blasting off is similar to launching a rocket with only 10% fuel in the tank. Before the rocket manages to escape earth's gravitational pull, it will run out of fuel and start falling back to earth.

Stating this reality has nothing to do with not supporting the noble cause that MSB is trying to achieve. There are plenty of other noble causes that MSB holders do not directly support and that doesn't make them lesser of a human being.

I can also argue that the money that MSB has spent since inception and is going to continue to spend in the future, can be spent on other causes that provide immediate reliefs to the world's poor. Whether we like to admit it or not, the problems that MSB is trying to solve are mainly first world's problems. For the same amount of money, we can solve much more third world's problems.

Having said all of the above, I must admit that the recent strength in the MSB's share price has taken me by surprise because none of the positive announcements made in the past few months has addressed the biggest elephant in the room, i.e. long term cash security of the company.

At $2.50, I believe the market has irrationally priced in perfection in MSB, i.e. announcements of the partnership and product approvals. The market hasn't left any room for mistakes at all. In other words, should MSB announce something that is a bit underwhelming, the punishment handed to the share price can be quite severe.

This leaves MSB holders with a very tricky dilemma: 1) Sell now and secure the short term profit and risk watching the share price continue rising or 2) Continue to hold and risk watching the paper profit disappearing faster than the speed of light.

This is why I prefer to invest in more "boring" companies where the rise is less spectacular but more consistent and regular.

One day, there is a possibility that MSB can become a "boring" company. This is when every 6 months, SI announces that NPAT and Sales has increased by 15-25% compared to the previous corresponding period. Until that day arrives, I will happily sit on the fence and observe.
