thanks for the tip - but i am wondering if it has made firefox faster for me. in my case, i was using firefox under linux -. to speed up my connections, i tend to disable images , java, and even javascript - this is particularly handy, when downloading files. as normally while files are being downloaded, then the browser takes some time to download the information.
mmmmm - maybe it does not make too much difference when opening up a page like hot copper - but i just tested it out on one of those pages that takes ages to download - this is a "field test comparison"
normal download of page 1min 35 sec
with tweaks 24sec
downloading page with no images etc etc 18sec
that is interesting
