education --- one thing for sure, is that the more educated a society becomes, then the less influence that religion has. watso has no idea what is taught in islamic schools (well except for some odd expose, using hidden cameras here and there) - but if some moslem imam is advocating shutting down islamic schools, then he might be onto something.
a slight side issue - but a number of islamic schools seem to have been investigated for some rorts involving government funding - and
any school who plays silly buggers with government funding, should have all funding stopped, and any miss spent funds should be recovered - and that will shut down a few schools.
the holy book for islam is the koran , and according to the final prophet mohummed (pboh) - the koran is the
inerrant word of god, not subject to interpretation. it seems that the god of the muslims informed his messenger (that is the MO guy - pboh) that at night the sun set in a muddy pool - and by implication that the world was flat..

once muslims start to accept that their god (they call him allah - but is supposed to be the same god as whom the jews and christians pray to - being the so called abrahamic religions), had no idea (in the light of modern knowledge - which of course equates to education) - and was just telling fibs to the messenger, then maybe muslims might start to question the koran.
watso doubts that too many christians take the bible as being the gospel truth - and even those fundamentalist (as they interpret the good book) that actually do, are just harmless whackos. there are not too many christians these days, going around blowing themselves up in subways, mosques etc etc.
for what it is worth, but watso (an atheist these days, and an atheist before his kids were born), sent his kids to a catholic primary school - because they get a good education (from lay teachers, but possibly they only employed catholics - but watso knows that one of the good teachers was living in sin) , and religion was only a small part of the curriculum ... watso also taught at a private (ie supposedly christian - but non catholic) girls school - and once again, there was very little religion in the curriculum, and also very little religion in the girls themselves.
readers of the bolt blog, would well be aware of the happenings at the punchbowl public school, where the headmaster was a convert to the islamic faith - and his faith influenced that way that the school functioned. given watso's experience that in christian based school, that religion plays a very small role in the curriculum , then it is abhorrent that a public school should have strong religious overtones.
ps - watso just remembered, but certainly there would be christian based schools, that deliver a stronger christian message to the students, than the christian schools that watso has been exposed to... even though watso might even doubt the very existence of the persona of JC; the message of JC, was a message of peace - turn the other cheek etc etc.. unlike the message from the muslim god to his messenger, JC does not advocate the killing of anybody.
anyway, what did the head honcho of Egypt say about his religion????? - that is right, he basically said that the religion had to grow up

mr sisi is correct - but religious revolution is needed - but let them sort it out in the muslim countries - the war need not be fought in the secular west.
educational madrases , schools etc, are not needed to push the doctrine which is preached in the koran
