Let's not forget, spring/summer in Europe is autumn/winter in Australia. It'll soon be harvest season over there. Even if they bred indoor strains of the plant, the cost of growing and harvesting would be greatly reduced thanks to the outdoor climate.
I reckon the next few months will only bring good news for us!
