It seems quite illogical at this stage for Assad to initiate a chemical attack given his status as King 'president' was more stable now than for many years. Why given that situation would he look to destabilise his position and relative control over Syria with Russian support. Seems very strange to me.

I understand the point you make about Trump giving a show of force and all that but I am more interest in who is actually behind the attacks and who gave the orders as such.

Clearly there is a plan in the works to find a more accommodative administration in Syria to work with the USA with regards to the gas pipelines and oil arrangements.

Russia isn't going to back down so it will be a serious hot war. Clearly the US thanks they will win.
