I'm inclined to agree.
Last couple of announcements have been positive in their own right, yet have failed to meet the expectations/hype that was priced into the stock at $1. Both depth and time are now running our to deliver a "major" gas show. As a result of this the stock has been tanking heavily as the market no longer buys the story GDN is selling.
Suddenly a trading halt is called. The slide stops and the company announces an "Advanced Uranium Mining Venture" Suddenly the market's attention turns to this and gives their gas/oil interests a temporary reprieve from market scrutiny.
I agree that the market timing seems a little too cute. In my view, the announcement will fall into one of two baskets:
1. Smoke and mirrors: Medicore announcement concerning their uranium interests and how they may enter a paternship to look for more and possibly develop in the future. Essentially a 'nothing new' announcement designed to shift the focus away from the falling share price and also allow more time for further drilling.
or..
2. Significant uranium announcement: What it could be, who knows? Uranium is hot though, very hot, and if they geniunely have something of significance to announce concerning grades or resource estimates etc then this will have a significant effect on the price.
For what its worth I hold GDN shares, so I of course hope its the later option. I merely put forward the above comments/views because I think we need to try and keep level heads here and consider the situation objectively. GDN's price has been run up *twice* now on wild speculation of its oil/gas potential, and whilst I am sure the well will be "commercial", it has for the most part failed to deliver on that hype (though its hardly the company's fault not delivering on the markets unrealisitc hype)
Once again, with a trading halt and mention of an advanced uranium venture, the hype has returned and suddenly comments such as "6% grades" and "this will blow the gas project out of the water" etc.. start springing up. There is nothing wrong with having belief in the company and given the past few trading days its exciting to think there could be a significant uranium play to start factoring into the equation, but lets just try and keep things in perspective...
Just some thoughts.
