Technicals:
Last price BHP: $10.53
BHP looks as though it is at the beginning of a new wave upswing in a bigger picture
downtrend (beginning around March this year). Confidence has grown in this phase
continuing after the $10.50 resistance level was broken this morning. Also helping is the
bullish divergence in RSI (9 day) with the second movement coming out of oversold. Still
waiting however for a reversal signal from a trend-following indicator. ‘Hammer’ reversal
present on the 6th of this month. Looking for a short-term long trade with target at $11.00
(next resistance). Length of time of potential move will determine whether we are close to
trendline resistance as well, when exiting long/entering short position. At this stage (if it
happens) look again to volume divergence for overall downtrend to continue.
