However they have informed us about Personalised Skincare being a potential 'game changer' on at least three seperate occasions that I recall over the past 12 months. They have also made reference to OBJ’s digital product pipeline including BeautyConnect & Personalised Skincare employing OBJ’s dermaportation wand technology and disclosed the identity of three interested players being P&G, LO'real and Galderma (aka Nestle). Jeff has also been publicly quoted saying, “It will change the way the industry works” which better defines the impact of game-changing innovation
Wrt the DCE inspired liquid masks or liquid patches as they were referred to in the Shareholder Update released on 27/01/2016 there was no mention of any game-changer although it was suggested at the time that the DCE technology was highly sort after by both existing and prospective partners of OBJ as a breakthrough technology which is not quite the same but still implies significant technological advancements over existing competitor offerings.
As 'Inositol' is disclosed as one of the active ingredients evaluated for DCE liquid patches in addition to the same update also informing that, "P&G projects and work plans including colour cosmetics, skin tone enhancement, skin luminosity and shaving have continued their progression" I would submit that both the, Olay Regenerist Luminous product line and SK-II's GenOptics series will be at some point in the not too distant future integrated with OBJ tech.
Irrespective of the fact that OBJ have been working on DCE inspired liquid patches one could easily support the notion of the 'Magnemasks' trademark applying to disposable face masks as these products remain a good seller for P&G, align perfectly with OBJ's core competencies, and could potentially be further complimented by the adhesive and manufacturing capabilities of a recently executed partnership with Nitto Denko.
Over time I would expect to see OBJ's technologies incorporated across the entire range of Olay and SK-II branded skincare products so it matters less on what particular products get launched first and more on the markets ability to understand where this story is actually headed
