Halal certification is nothing but extortion racket, a money making scheme used by tax free status of mosques and other Islamic organisations and individuals claiming to be "charitable organisations"---similar to St Vincents and the Salvo's while only assisting Mohammedans, also depriving $millions in tax revenue benefit to the government, a get rich quick scam , to screw Australian shoppers, it is also used to extort money from companies wishing to sell their product / do business with Islamic countries.
Halal tax is on virtually everything sold in supermarkets, not just meat. It is also levied on the trucks that deliver the goods, the products used to clean those trucks, the boxes they are packed in, the plastic dividers in those boxes etc. etc.
