I looked up historical weather data for Karouni. Data for Linden can be misleading as Karouni is 100km from Linden. Apanachi is only 15km from Karouni.

Over the last 15 days ca. 60mm precipitation. Monthly figures for April ca. 120mm
And here the historical data:
https://www.worldweatheronline.com/apanachi-weather-averages/cuyuni-mazaruni/gy.aspx
April 2016 was 273mm. So this year rain in April is going to be less than half the figure of 2016.
April 2016 was more wet than any April since at least 2008.
The data also shows that 2016 was the most wet year on record with only 2010 having more precipitation although not in such a prolonged fashion.
Now take a look at October and November. These months have been considered out of wet season for 2016 and Troy had good performance, although low grade. 155mm and 212mm precipitation. Comparing to the past we see that these figures are associated with wet season, not dry season. In 2014 the wettest month in rain season was June with 152mm, so both month in dry season in 2016 had more precipitation each than the worst month in rain season in 2014.
