Where's the possibility for conflict of interest? Graphite vs mineral sands, I'm not really seeing it. Although now I think about it there might actually be some positive cross over if lithium titanate batteries pick up speed. They are lower energy density but super fast charging compared with lithium ion and titanate comes from titanium - one of the products of heavy mineral sands.
My assumption would be that he is able to fulfil his obligations as a director in more than one company. Directorial responsibilities aren't full time, they usually only meet 6 to 8 times a year plus other casual contact. It's your operating personnel that matter most.
Re interest, he holds 67 million STA shares, 2.5% of the company, hopefully that's incentive enough to keep at least one eye on the ball!!
