I would have thought it's speculative buying before announcement that V3 is released. After that, it should be 2 months until trial is completed, allow an additional couple of weeks to compile result and then wait and see regarding licensing deal with multinational.

I'm not surprised by the buying - I'm expecting it to pick up over the next month with the news flow, then settle back (during negotiations), with the odd surge as various people wake up in the middle of the night, certain that today is the day they make an announcement re licensing ;-).
