MZN hired Martin Bennett (a high profile lawyer) to represent them in court.
If MZN had nothing, Bennett wouldn't have entered in with them because such a case can affect his reputation.
This is pure speculation but you don't see high profile lawyers like Bennett going into a lost case unless he sees that the case has fruit for MZN and something that can bolster his reputation further.
MZN also didn't have a problem disclosing exact values of the transaction meaning that some form of communication took place.
