Thanks for your comments fringedweller/watso & I have tried a few things including downloading shockplayer (which I already had & that is currently disabled according to 'info box'- don't know how to change that)
Have been here & there & found many things I have never seen before, however in the washup it appears, at least til this point in time, that IE is OK but Firefox is stuffed.
I will play on.
